MEET OUR TEAM
Dr. Kanda is a graduate of the New York University College of Dentistry, where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery D.D.S. degree and graduated with honours in Special Patient Care. At NYUCD, Dr. Kanda also completed the Advanced Clinical Fellowship in Comprehensive Dentistry, following the completion of her dental degree in India.
Being born and raised in Burnaby, Dr. Kanda wanted to return to her friends and family and provide high quality dentistry in the Lower Mainland. As a New West Secondary School alumni when the opportunity to work at Royal Square Dental arose it was a perfect match. Dr. Kanda is dedicated to providing evidence-based dentistry that focuses on patient-centred care with optimal aesthetic and functional outcomes.
Dr. Kanda continues to enhance her dental knowledge through her involvement in many continuing education courses.

Dr. Ramanjeet Kanda is a highly skilled dental professional with extensive training and experience. He earned his Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry (DMD) from Boston University, where he developed a strong foundation in comprehensive dental care. Following his graduation, Dr. Kanda completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency at NYU Langone, further honing his expertise in various dental procedures and patient care.
In addition to his general dental practice, Dr. Kanda specializes in aesthetic dentistry and Botox treatments, offering his patients a wide range of cosmetic and therapeutic options. His commitment to continuous learning and excellence in dentistry ensures that his patients receive the highest quality of care.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Kanda is an avid sports enthusiast. He enjoys playing soccer and golf, as well as exploring the great outdoors. His passion for nature and sports reflects his dedication to maintaining a balanced and active lifestyle, which he brings into his approach to patient care. Dr. Kanda is dedicated to helping his patients achieve healthy, beautiful smiles while maintaining their overall well-being.
Kar-Lai was born and raised in Winnipeg, graduating in 1998 with a Doctor of Medical Dentistry from the University of Manitoba. She promptly moved to Vancouver to join Royal Square Dental, and to escape the punishing prairie winters.
Her area of focus is general family practice and restorative dentistry. She is a member of good standing in the CDSBC, BCDA, and CDA. Additionally, she is an active participant in the Vancouver Ferrier Gold Foil (Tucker) Study Club, the Canadian Academy of Restorative Dentistry and Prosthodontics, and the Greater Vancouver Study Club.
When Kar-Lai is not at work, she can be found practicing Karate in the dojo, discussing big ideas with fellow UBC Art students, or sipping an enormous chai tea — while devouring stories and dreaming of being a poet.
Dr. Sandhu spent most of her early life in the Lower Mainland and currently resides in New Westminster. She completed her undergraduate degree at Simon Fraser University and as a person who does not shy away from exciting opportunities, Dr. Sandhu travelled to Australia, completing her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree at The University of Sydney.
During her comprehensive training, Dr. Sandhu had the opportunity to work in multiple dental hospitals including a rural dental hospital under the Australian public health sector. Although the beautiful beaches of Australia were alluring, the beautiful mountainous views of home pulled Dr. Sandhu back to BC.
She returned in 2017 and has been practising as a general dentist in the lower mainland since. In her spare time, Dr. Sandhu can be found at the local gym or going for scenic walks with her two lovely dogs. She is also known to try out a new adventure like kayaking, zip-lining, ATVing and even skydiving. Dr. Sandhu looks forward to helping you meet your oral health goals.
Harman engages her patients with a patient-centred approach. She acquaints herself with what motivates her patients and incorporates their values and beliefs into the oral health care she provides. By understanding why and where a patient may have gaps in their oral health or general health care, Harman is able to offer alternative approaches that are more suitable for the patient and their situation.
Harman starts each visit by asking patients questions and reviewing their medical history, this allows her to focus her oral care to each patients individual needs while also discussing preventative measures that are specific to the patient. She believes it is necessary educate patients about the importance of maintaining and promoting a clean oral cavity and how it impacts a patients overall well-being.
As a Registered Dental Hygiene Practitioner, Harman has the ability to work autonomously in regards to clinical treatment, advocacy work, educating patients, gathering data and research. She is also trained and certified to provide local anaesthesia to her clients.
Sandeep is the newest hygienist at Royal Square Dental, where she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise from her decade of professional experience. Having completed her dental hygiene training in Quebec, she is dedicated to ensuring her patients’ utmost comfort in the dental chair, especially those who may experience anxiety. Sandeep’s caring approach and attention to detail make her a valuable addition to the team, and she is committed to providing the highest quality of care to all patients.
In her personal life, Sandeep has a passion for adventure, often backpacking abroad to explore new destinations. She also enjoys spending time outdoors, soaking in the beauty of nature. Family and friends are an important part of Sandeep’s life, and she cherishes the moments spent with them. Sandeep is thrilled to be a part of the amazing team at Royal Square Dental and looks forward to meeting you and helping you achieve a healthy, beautiful smile.
Simran Pannu has been a valued member of the Royal Square Dental team since July 2024. With a strong foundation in the dental field, she began her career in 2021 as a Sterilization Assistant before transitioning to her role as a Dental Hygienist in August 2023, immediately after graduating from Vancouver College of Dental Hygiene Inc. Simran is dedicated to providing patient-centred care and is passionate about educating her patients on maintaining excellent oral health.
Simran is committed to ensuring that your visit to our dental office is both comfortable and relaxing. She strives to create a positive and friendly environment, engaging patients in meaningful conversations while helping them achieve their best oral health.
Simran completed her Bachelor’s in Health Science from Thompson Rivers University in January 2024, bringing a wealth of knowledge and a compassionate approach to our team.
In her free time, Simran enjoys spending quality moments with friends and family, often in the company of her two beloved cats, Jimmy and Simba. She also loves experimenting in the kitchen, exploring new recipes through baking and cooking.

Arshveer, one of the newest members of the Royal Square Dental team, was born and raised in India before moving to Vancouver in 2018. She holds a bachelor’s degree in dentistry and plays a versatile role at the clinic, assisting both at the front desk and in the back office.
Beyond her professional duties, Arshveer values quality time with her family and friends. Her warm demeanour and dedication to patient care make her a valuable asset to the practice, and she looks forward to continuing to contribute to the team’s success.
Casey has deep roots in 150 Mile (BC), where she spent her formative years before relocating after high school. Her journey into the dental field began with her graduation from the Certified Dental Assisting program at CDI College in 2013. Since then, Casey has been an integral part of the Royal Square Dental team, bringing her skills and dedication to the practice.
Outside of work, Casey’s love for the outdoors is evident in her fondness for camping and exploring nature’s beauty. She also enjoys the art of cooking and finds joy in preparing meals for her loved ones. Casey’s most cherished role, however, is that of a mother, which she balances with her professional endeavours. Her passion for positivity and hard work shines through in all aspects of her life, making her a valued member of both her family and the dental practice.
Francesca is a Certified Dental Assistant at Royal Square Dental, where she brings her passion for dental care to her work with both patients and her own family and friends. She studied at CDI College in Surrey, equipping her with the skills and knowledge needed to provide exceptional care.
Outside of her professional life, Francesca is a devoted mother to her 2-year-old son, Roy, and enjoys the company of her cat, Oreo. Her hobbies include spending time outdoors, hiking, exploring new places, and sampling the delights of local cafes. Francesca’s dedication to her profession and her family shines through in everything she does.
Shima has been a part of the dental field for over ten years, joining the Royal Square Dental Group in 2012. Her days are filled with the joy of helping patients and witnessing their beautiful smiles at the end of treatment. Working with such a friendly, loving, caring, and professional team is an honour she deeply values.
Outside of work, Shima finds joy in biking and is a devoted cat lover. She finds solace in the company of her feline friends and enjoys exploring the outdoors on her bike. Despite her love for cats and biking, Shima admits to having a strong dislike for cooking and prefers to spend her time pursuing her other passions.
